OXEGEN FESTIVAL MUSIC on the LATE LATE BREAKFAST SHOW

Good Morning!  On this weekend’s show (july 23 &24) I’m featuring music I heard at the Oxegen Festival in Ireland.  Let me know what you think of the bands and the music.  Here’s a complete list of the bands I saw and the ones I wanted to see but couldn’t.  I’m also recommending you to check out the new bands.

1.  Eliza Doolittle – an  English pop/folk singer-songwriter.  Album: Eliza Doolittle. Song played on the show: Skinny Genes.  RECOMMENDED!!!

2.  the Coronas – a 4-piece Irish rock/indie/alternative band. Albums: Heroes or Ghosts; AND Tony Was An Ex-Con.  Song played on the show: Grace Don’t Wait.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

3.  Vampire Weekend – an American indie/rock band. Albums: Vampire Weekend; AND Contra.  Song played on the show: Horchata

4.  Scouting for Girls – British pop band. Albums: Scouting for Girls; AND Everybody Wants to be on TV.  Song played on the show: This Ain’t a Love Song

5.  Jay Z – American rapper. Albums:  many and many :)   Song played on the show: Big Pimpin’

6.  Arcade Fire – Canadian rock band (Wish I saw them but couldn’t). Albums: Neon Bible.  Song played on the show: Keep the Car Running

7. Kids in Glass Houses – Welsh rock band (heard them from the tent).  Albums: Smart Casual; AND Dirt.  Song played on the show: Dance All Night

8.  3OH!3 (3 Oh 3) – an American electropop group. Albums: 3OH!3; AND Want; AND Streets of Gold.  Song played on the show:  Starstrukk with Katy Perry

9.  Florence & the Machine – an English indie/pop band. Albums: Lungs.  Song played on the show:  Drumming Song. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

10.  La Roux – an English electropop duo.  Albums: La Roux.  Song played on the show: In for the Kill

11.  Gossip – 3-piece indie/rock band.  Albums: Standing in the Way of Control; AND Music for Men.  Song played on the show: Love Long Distance. RECOMMENDED!!!

12.  Black Eyed Peas – an American hip hop group. Albums: many.  Song played on the show: Boom Boom Pow

13.  Muse – an English alternative rock band. Albums: 5, the latest album is “the Resistance”; AND featured on the Twilight movie soundtracks.  Song played on the show: Undisclosed Desires

14.  Earth, Wind & Fire – an American disco/R&B band from the 70s. Albums: many. Song played on the show: September

15.  Joshua Radin – an American folk singer. Albums: We Were Here; AND Simple Times.  Song played on the show: Sky.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

16.  The Temper Trap – an Australian alternative rock band.  Albums: Conditions.  Song played on the show: Fader

17.  Paolo Nutini – a Scotish folk singer-songwriter. Albums: These Streets; AND Sunny Side Up.  Song played on the show: Jenny Don’t be Hasty. RECOMMENDED!

18.  30 Seconds to Mars – an American rock band. Albums: 30 Seconds to Mars; AND A Beautiful Lie; AND This is War.  Song played on the show: From Yesterday.

19.  Faithless -British electronica band.  Albums: many. Song played on the show:  God is a DJ.

20. Eminem – an American rapper. Albums: many. Song played on the show: My Name Is; AND Love the Way you Lie with Rihanna

21.  the Prodigy – an English electronic dance music group. Albums: many.  Song played on the show:  Breathe

22. Mumford & Sons – an English folk rock band.  Albums: Sigh No More.  Song played on the show:  Little Lion Man.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
